KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Didi Ananda Kalika’ Member of the Order of Australia (AM) 2009

“Nurturing Mongolia’s Young Lives”

Didi (which means Sister) is the founder and director of the Lotus Children’s Centre. She first came to Mongolia in the early 90’s to teach yoga and meditation and was moved by the plight of the children on the streets of Ulaanbaatar. Starting from a single apartment Lotus has grown to house, feed, care for and educate 80 children. At one stage Lotus was caring for around 150 children including many abandoned babies. Now the economic situation in Mongolia is better and babies are abandoned less and less. This is reflected in the ages of the children in the care of Lotus, that in 2015 ranged from 4 to 19 years old.  Didi will share her journey with us.

“Exploring your inner potential through Meditation”

Modern science has made it possible for us to explore deeper and deeper into the far reaches of the universe. But how much do we understand about who we are in the depth of our own being? Meditation allows us to gain access to our subtler levels, providing doorways to a tremendously powerful and profound sense of being.

Although meditation and yoga and the deep philosophy behind it emerged thousands of years ago, today the value of this practice and the perspective it imparts is being increasingly recognised by medical science and the study of psychology. In this workshop you will learn about the yogic perspective on how the mind is structured and how we can gain fulfillment by accessing the subtler levels of our being. You will also learn a meditation technique that you can use as a daily practice.
